Hi!  My name is Keith Cavalier.  In 2002 I started to have a series of strokes.  Since then I’ve had three, along with diabetes, and have had problems walking and maintaining my balance.  So I contacted Canine Helpers and they paired me with a three year old yellow lab named “Charlie.”
     Charlie has been wonderful.  He helps me walk up curbs, walk over un-even ground, pick up things, and helps me to be more stable.  If my blood sugar drops, he can go to the refrigerator and bring me juice.  He even brings the phone if I need help.  Even though we have been together only a short time, I feel Charlie and I will be great friends.
