My name is
Don Hills. I live in Zephyrhills, FL and come to New York to visit for
the summer. Due to Diabetes, I have lost the feeling in my legs and
hands. I have a hard time picking things up when I drop them.
After hearing about Canine Helpers for the Handicapped,
I applied to the school and was interviewed by Beverly and was accepted
for the Canine Helpers’ program.
Next, I was interviewed by several dogs and was picked
by a beautiful Golden Retriever named Honcho. Since completing my
training at Canine Helpers, Honcho and I are a good working team.
Honcho picks things up for me, gets the cordless phone, opens doors and
gets help if I need it.
I thank Canine Helpers for my wonderful companion and
great helper.
Thank you
